Sea World Polar Bear Cub
A $1.5 million dollar extension of Polar Bear Shores at Sea World is currently underway. When completed the extension will allow Liya and her cub to be on display at the same time as the male twin bears Hudson and Nelson.
The new section will include a large pool and various substrates and natural vegetation as well as foraging pits for the bears to dig and play in.
Polar Bear Shores is the only exhibit in Australia where you can see the world's largest land carnivore up close and providing a unique educational experience.
About the Polar Bear Cub:
*Born on May 9th the cub weighed just 600grams. The cub now weighs 6kg!
*The unnamed cub took it's first steps in recent weeks!
*When the cub and mum Liya are ready they will be on show for guests to view at Polar Bear Shores. Sea World expects this to occur in September.
